In the city of Brescia in addition to other libraries, the most important is the Queriniana library, which was built in 1746 and takes its name from Bishop Angelo Maria Querini. This library has three sections: a historical section dedicated to the Risorgimento, an artistic section and one of local studies. Now there are more than 500,000 works in this library. There is also a media library, since 2001.

The library was established in 1768, initially composed of the book collection of Cardinal Alessandro Giuseppe Furietti. The collection is arranged within the sixteenth-century Palazzo Nuovo, and contains more than 730,000 pieces of documents, volumes, photos, prints and numerous written testimonies of the cultural life of the city. Over the years, the structure was expanded with new materials, thanks to the continuous donations and purchases of the library itself. Today, the library is the primary institution for the collection and preservation of Bergamo's book heritage.

The Tremelloni Library has its headquarters in Politeca, since 2004. A documentary wealth in which one can reconstruct the stylistic, cunning and ingenious evolution of the textile - fashion organism. We find technological and economic documentation, ranging from market techniques to communication. It combines filaments with buildings, clothing and accessories, purchases and sales with the scenarios in progress in the world.

This foundation is unique in its kind and among the most famous in Italy. It was created in 1988, on the occasion of the Italianische Zeichnung exhibition, in memory of the well-known collector Antonio Mazzotta. The aim is to enhance the visual art collection through various exhibitions, concerts and conferences. Before creating this foundation, Mazzotta had already published books and created multiples that have made the history of contemporary art, holding exhibitions in Italy and Europe.

Cassina Anna is a well-stocked library located in a building from the twentieth century. The renovations have recently ended, which made it very modern. In fact, interested parties can consult, not only paper volumes, but also audiovisual materials including films and documentaries with the help of experienced competent staff.

In the Historical Archives there are important documents that present the entire history of the community. In addition, the archive also contains testimonials from citizens. Those who want to know more about the history of this city can visit it freely. Admission is free.

The villa that houses the Civic Library of Luino and the Vittorio Sereni Archive is the result of structural and decorative interventions that have occurred over the years, accompanied by the change of ownership of the same in different hands.
