Marilena Barbera is a winegrower: she lives and works in Menfi, where she makes her wines with her mother and the amazing crew of Cantine Barbera. Cantine Barbera, Marilena’s vineyard, is a boutique winery located in Menfi, a few steps far from the Mediterranean Sea: organic farming, craft winemaking and low environmental impact are her choices for a small focused production of high quality wines that represent, with elegance and unique personality, the fresh and marine character of their original terroir. The vines live so close to the ocean that they can turn sea brine into vibrant tasty salinity: enjoying mild winters and warm dry summers, as well as amazing temperature ranges between night and day, they are able to give ripe, tasty and sweet berries that smell of sunshine and of the gentle Mediterranean wind. Indigenous varieties such as Inzolia, Perricone, Nerello Mascalese, Alicante, Nero d’Avola and Grillo as well as international grapes like Chardonnay, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown according to traditional farming methods and organic principles, which are respectful of the natural environment and of the grapevine’s needs and have bee
