Chiesa di Santa Maria Formosa
The Church is located in the Castello district on the edge of the San Marco district. It overlooks the homonymous field, which is one of the largest in the city. The building was funded by the noble Tribuno family and took the name of Purification of the Blessed Virgin. The Church was wanted by San Magno di Oderzo to whom, they say, the “Virgin of a vague form” appeared. The Church was restructured several times, maintaining the Greek cross shape. The last to rebuild it was Mauro Codussi.
