Canal Grande
It is the main canal of Venice, about 3 kilometers and 800 meters long. Called 'Canalazzo' by the Venetian inhabitants, it has the form of an inverted 'S' that goes from the Liberty Bridge to the Bacino di San Marco. The Grand Canal is the river where the city was born around, and it was one of the most important centers of commerce throughout the Middle Ages. Along its path it is dominated by numerous bridges, the most famous of which is certainly the Rialto Bridge.
