Castello Svevo
The Swabian Castle of Trani was erected in 1233, during the reign of Frederick II of Swabia. In 1832, the structure was transformed into prison, remaining so until 1974. Only in 1976, it was placed under the control of the Superintendence of Environmental and Artistic Heritage of Puglia. Later, it underwent several restoration work and in 1998 it was opened to the public.
