Palazzo Madama
It is the seat of the Senate of the Italian Republic and takes its name from Margherita of Austria, daughter of Emperor Charles V, who married Alessandro dei Medici. After the death of all the members of dei Medici, Pope Benedict XIV made it the seat of papal Government. Rooms of great interest to visit are: Sala Maccari, Sala Italia, Sala del Risorgimento, Sala dello Struzzo, Sala Cavour.
