The Fortress of Martinengo or Castello stands on a rocky spur in Bergamo. It was built around the 14th century and from the fifteenth century it became the property of the Martinengo family, from which it also took its name. Its function was to spot possible attacks and to welcome the population. Today the castle is surrounded by greenery and you arrive along a stone road. It is currently in excellent condition.
