Musei Vaticani: Museo Gregoriano Egizio
The Gregorian Egyptian Museum was founded in 1839 at the behest of Pope Gregory XVI. Its function was to collect ancient Egyptian artifacts collected in the city of Rome and from the Villa Adriana. These finds can be seen in the nine halls of the Museum where many sculptures are placed, both those of the collection and those coming from ancient Mesopotamia.
