"Le Pozze" takes its name from the noble "Delle Pozze" family, Lords of Dicomano up through the 19th century. News of the structure’s oldest section dates back to 1246, in a citation of its on-site chapel, presumably linked to the "Madonna and Child" of the school of Filippo Lippi.
