“HAPPINESS DOES NOT COME FROM THINGS. IT CAN COME FROM WORK AND PRIDE IN WHAT YOU DO” (Gandhi) I am Cinzia, owner of Hotel La Pace in Pradleves. This quote by Gandhi has always fascinated me. Happiness and pride: the story of my small hotel is interwoven with the lives of many happy and proud women and men over the past 84 years.It’s also a story of proud men like my uncle Alfredo, who left Pradleves in the tough years after the war to try his luck in Torino, Venice, Paris, Stockholm and eventually New York. His efforts contributed, year after year, to the growth of our family hotel. I grew up here, in this homestead. I treasured my grandmother Menicheto’s reproaches, my grandfather Coustanin’s looks and even my uncle Alfredo’s life lessons. A few simple, true things. I grew up happy and proud among those who held my hand, loved me and taught me to love my job. It is here, with this appreciation, where I raised my son, Gianluca. This is our story.
