Montagnana can be considered the 'capital of ham, 'one of the traditional products of the area. Sweet ham is produced in 16 different municipalities located between the Berici hills and the Euganean, but Montagnana represents the highest production, to the point of having been elected the headquarters. of the Consortium for the Protection of Veneto Berico Euganeo Ham. Only the ham that meets the needs and rules established by the consortium, can be branded with the Lion of St. Mark and the writing Veneto.

And all this happens after 12-15 months of aging when the ham acquires the desired scent, flavor and fragrance. It is therefore no wonder that the city dedicates to this product, the fruit of time, work and traditions, the Festa del Prosciutto Veneto D.O.P., which has been held within the walls for 12 years and the streets of the characteristic medieval village among which the Duomo of the fifteenth century and the church of San Francesco stand out as main monuments. The city was also enriched by the Venetians who built numerous palaces and villas there, including Villa Pisani designed by Andrea Palladio.
