Piazza Armerina, in Sicilian dialect Chiazza, is a town in the province of Enna, which for a long time remained under Norman domination (started in 1061) and that still preserves some traditions, such as the Palio dei Normanni held every year from 12 to 14 August. It is a beautiful place, with a Mediterranean climate, surrounded by the lush nature of the Parco della Ronza with its fragrant eucalypites, where it is possible to admire the wonderful Enchanted Stones, limestone rocks carved by time, and the beautiful Lake of Olivo.

It is a highly sought after tourist destination by foreign and Italian tourists, in which numerous visits are organized with archaeological and cultural purposes. Noteworthy is the Villa Romana del Casale, since 1997 World Heritage Site by UNESCO, famous throughout the world for its wonderful Roman mosaics; a visit is also worth the Basilica inside the Villa itself.
