Salve is a town of about 5000 inhabitants in the province of Lecce. Located in the stretch of the Ionian Sea, about 61 km from the provincial capital, it includes the hamlet of Ruggiano, Pecoluse, Torre Pali, Posto Vecchio and Lido Marini. This is the oldest in Puglia as well as being among the oldest in Italy and its realization was curated by Giovan Battista Olgiati from Como and by Tommaso Mauro da Muro. The Church of St. Anthony of Padua is characterized by the façade in classic white Lecce stone and has a round arch in rusticated. The Church of Santu Lasi instead is a church of early medieval origin that gave its name to the Masseria di San Giacomo della which the original nomenclature was ignored.
