La Valle is in Valleandona near Asti in the Paleontological Natural Reserve. We have completely renovated the structure which was built at the end 700 and is on two floors into two units and we created new rooms dedicated to our B & B. After a professional life as a businessman, I decided to sell everything in change of a large countryhouse. With my wife, we moved to the most beautiful hills in Piedmont, growed a vineyard, and we are now enjoying the company of a dog, 8 cats and dozens of other animals. We rent apartments in our property in order to enjoy also the company of our guests. Private entrance to each apartment. Not far, many interesting medioeval cities, Asti, Alba, Alessandria and Acqui, can be visited and Torino. Cascina San Martino is located in the land of the great Piedmont wines: BAROLO, BARBARESCO,NEBBIOLO,BARBERA, DOLCETTO and MOASCATO.

Castello di Castellero trasformato

Castellero (8 Km)

The castle of Castellero is located in the Province of Asti. The fortress was built in 1312 on the rubble of the previous structure, so it is a reconstruction in reality. Its name means 'castle wrecked'. Today, there are few traces of the old building, such as the windows, the moat and the base of the tower. Many additional interventions to the structure bear the name of the Ponte family. The tower, at its origins, had the shape of a rhombus and was about 30 meters high.

Santuario Madonna della Spina

The Sanctuary of Madonna della Spina was built in memory of the event that saw the painted image of the Blessed Virgin bleed from one eye, after being scratched with a thorn. Every 15 August, a feast dedicated to the Blessed Virgin is celebrated, where all her faithful participate. Inside the Sanctuary there are two altars, one of which dates back to the 17th century.
