I was immediately hooked on this city so romantically strong and wild, with it’s landscape offering a sea of attractive beaches and on the other hand is completely surrounded by mountains, hills and including several overlooking the snowy top of the Etna (active volcano).

I booked my first dive at Isola Bella where the water is clear and where you can assist at beautiful play of light in the caves and ravines that comprise it. The dive turned out to be fantastic scenery accompanied by yellow shrimp, grouper, bream and lobster. The second dive I programmed in the bay of Mazzaro which id full of caves, including the Grotta Azzurra, which gives very strong emotions.

The cave is very large even if you enter through a small tunnel once inside I discovered a magical world made of false coral, starfish, sea fans colonies of bright colors from yellow to red. If the deep sea of this area reserves spectacular scenarios no less spectacular is what offers the mainland by the splendid Antico Teatro (Greek-Roman Theatre) with sea view, by wonderful public garden and by a great old town that oozes history in each corner.

Furthermore it is possible to find two championship golf courses with 18 holes and with a high quality of the playing surface.

At the end of the day the options are endless on-site by the chance to see a show in the splendid Teatro Antico (Roman greek theater) with the sea on the background, or one of the restaurats which for years has counted among its guests illustrious personages like Liz Taylor, Richard Burton Dino Grandi, Willy Brandt, Greta Garbo, Soraya, Ava Gardner and Romy Schneider.

Taormina is a tourist city of international renown, elegant, in his Corso Umberto it is possible to satisfy the desires of each one shopping and discovering the real Made in Italy style, but not only.

There is no need to leave Taormina if you have not taken advantage of a boat trip to discover the unique angles of coast from Isola Bella, the Bay of Giardini Naxos and Mazzaro .

I must admit that the location in the success of the event certainly plays an important role and Taormina in particular has a strong fascination for visitors.

The city is located on a hill about 200 m above sea level, suspended between rocks and sea, provides a scene of natural beauty unique to the splendor of colors and lush vegetation.

The festival is held annually in June, projections are always very special and enriching the program before the projections lessons taken by internationally acclaimed filmmakers.

I particularly appreciated the backstage Baaria by Giuseppe Tornatore and the worldpreview of Diamond 13 with Gerard Depardieu. It was very exciting see the projections in the Teatro Antico, when the smell of sea climb on the hill facing the volcano Etna.

The magic does not end at the end of the projection but still on the premises until late at night and the morning's charm is even more strong with the sea that has changed color and the Bella Isola that floats in front of the coast.

Isola Bella, the pearl of Mediterranean Sea

Taormina is known in the world for its architectural beauty, its beautiful mediterranean sea and its flourishing nature. Taormina’s picturesque historical centre on Tauro Mountain, with its high position above the Ionio sea, offers its visitors a breathtaking and unforgettable view: from Taormina you can see in fact both the beautiful Giardini di Naxos bay and the towering Etna volcano.

At the bottom of the city is located the beautiful Isola Bella, which attracts tourists and sea lovers from all over the world with its clean water. Isola Bella recently became a natural reserve, and it is with no doubt the most famous beach of Taormina area, repaired by the bay and by the mountain of Taormina. What a lovely natural paradise it is! I went to Isola Bella beach with a friend of mine, and we spent an entire day in the sun surrounded by the people of Taormina and other tourists having a lot of fun.

We reached Isola Bella in early morning, the perfect hour if you do not want to find the beach too crowded especially in July and August! From Taormina city, we took the cableway that takes you directly to Taormina Sea starting from via Luigi Pirandello, just a few minutes walking from Porta Messina. If you visit Taormina, be sure not to miss this natural paradise unique in the Ionian coast and in all the Mediterranean sea.
