We started our journey through the beaches of north-western Sicily from San Vito lo Capo. Moving to the east we meet the natural reserve lo Zingaro which is a real landscape and natural paradise of Sicily & lt; /em>. This beautiful nature reserve is located between the municipalities of Castellammare del Golfo and San Vito lo Capo and is natural habitat of numerous species of fauna and flora. Immersed in nature are also the many beaches that certainly do not lack in this stretch of coast and that each year attract many tourists and travelers, both for the beauty of the landscape that for the crystal clear waters of the sea that bathes them. These enchanting shores are formed by a rocky crust and punctuated by numerous coves. To get an idea of the many beaches of the Zingaro, which are then among the most beautiful beaches in the province of Trapani and perhaps all of Sicily, there I recommend renting a boat and arriving by sea in the various coves. In this way you can admire this stretch of coast in all its fullness, fully enjoying all its charm and beauty. In the reserve there are many tour operators or the same fishermen who offer the opportunity to take a boat ride along the coast. Continuing east we arrive at the beaches of Scopello; the Faraglioni beach, called so because of the two big rocks that rise in the middle of the sea, not so far from the shore. We are always in the Zingaro nature reserve and this cove contains in itself all the characteristics of the area. The beach is not very big, but it's definitely worth going there for the fine white sand and the crystal clear sea with rocks. The descent to the beach is not very easy. It takes, from the main road, a fifteen minutes walk. But the effort will certainly be paid off. If you decide to reach this bay, then trouble forgetting mask and snorkel for a bit of snorkeling and to admire the beauty of the seabed. But be careful, while swimming, to the many boats that are always mooring not so far from the shore. In Scopello you can also decide to stay a few more days, perhaps staying in the rooms created in the ancient tuna. In the area it is worth a stop, perhaps for a few hours of relaxation and a swim in a fairytale sea, also the beach of Guadalopa. This is located on the road that connects the town of Castellammare del Golfo to Scopello, traveling in the direction of Trapani. It is a beach with many small pebbles and pebbles, and a sea with green reflections. It is one of the most convenient beaches to reach in the area and for this reason also one of the busiest, especially if you choose to go there in the high season. Here there are also various tourist and beach facilities ready to satisfy the most varied requests of tourists and bathers. The Capo Rama Nature Reserve was established in 2000 on behalf of the WWF Italia Onlus. The reserve covers fifty-seven hectares of area. In the area you can see limestone rocks dating back 200 million years ago, rich in fossils and corals that populated the seabed. The flora is composed of specimens of Olivastro and a rare species of Sicilian Thorny Oak.

The Castle of the Counts of Modica is located in Alcamo, it was built in 1350 by the brothers Henry I and Federico III Chiaramonte. The structure consists of four towers, two of which have a rectangular shape, while the other two have a cylindrical shape. The courtyard of the building has a rectangular shape. Over time, the City Council decided to use the castle as an ethnographic museum.

Ram Palace or Castle was built by the homonymous noble and powerful family of Catalonia in the late 16th century. Today it is in excellent condition and is open to the public.

Torre Muzza

Torre Muzza was built during the course around the 16th and 17th centuries and was also called Torrazza. Its function was purely defensive of the Sicilian coast and was in visual connection with the Tower of Isola delle Femmine and with two other towers in the area. It is currently in a state of disrepair and only the base remains of the original structure.

The Castle of Carini was built between the 11th century and the twelfth century on a previously Arab construction. The construction work is due to the warrior of Count Ruggiero, Rodolfo Bonello. Initially, the fortress played a defensive role but already in 1283, under the management of the Abate family, it was used as a residential structure. Subsequently, the Castle was home to a tragic story concerning the Baroness of Carini, Laura Lanza di Trabia, who was killed by her father together with her lover by question of honor on 4 December 1563.

Though the exterior part is attractive, the splendour within is unimaginable. The Romanesque bronze doors conspicuous and one can easily notice them while touring the area.

The Castle of the Lady or Farmhouse was built by the Arabs in ancient times. Over the years it has had various denominations, such as “Sala della Donna” because the settlers moved to a neighboring farmhouse. In 1400 instead, “Castle of Sala Paruta” and later “Castello di Salaparuta”. Unfortunately, in 1968, a strong earthquake destroyed the whole country. That's why today only the ruins are left.
