Mare Alassio, not only in summer

For those who love bathing and sunbathing, the sea exists only in the summer, but Alassio is one of those seaside resorts that are perfect for spending their holidays even out of season. Obviously, for this lovely town located in the province of Savona, the sea and beaches are the main attractions, but its beautiful climate and the sun that shines throughout the year make it a perfect destination not only in summer.

The sea of Alassio is certainly not the Red Sea with its coral reefs, but its blue sea hides real treasures that you can admire if you take fins and mask with you. Colourful fish and fish of various types, molluscs and ancient ships — all this is hidden beneath the surface. The shallow seabed is covered by sand, grey-white and fine like flour, as well as the beaches of Alassio, which extend for a few kilometers to another seaside village, Laigueglia.

With sand and sea it contrasts the dark green of the Mediterranean scrub that you can touch closely if you decide to follow the numerous hiking trails. The heat and intense scents of thyme, rosemary and savory will surround you. You can admire breathtaking views, such as along the road that leads from Andora to the hamlet of Conna surrounded by olive groves.

In Alassio we breathe a little French air (we are close to the French Riviera). You can see the influence on the waterfront that follows the whole coast and gathers in the center of the village where the famous Muretto is located in which there are colorful and fun tiles with the signatures of the characters famous including Ernest Hemingway, Domenico Modugno, Gino Paoli and many others.
