On a sunny weekend in early autumn I was in the beautiful town of Chioggia, a place with deep culture and a long history. In fact, in 1797 Chioggia passed under the reign of Venice, as a result of which it passed first under the Austrian Hungarian empire and then under the reign of France. A town with a conformation very similar to the most famous Venice, it offers visitors slow and harmonious atmospheres typical of fishing villages, transmitting what & igrave; a great sense of peace and a warm welcome. The city is actually divided into the old town of Chioggia and in the Riviera area with the beautiful beach, called Sotto Marina . Typical is the bridge that connects the two areas of Chioggia. The main street of the ancient city is Corso del Popolo, a great course characteristic of this beautiful town on whose sides there are numerous outdoor tables where I sip a delicious aperitif admiring the street go cheerful typical of Saturday afternoon. Another characteristic place I visit is the large fish market in Piazza Granaio which during all days of the week except Monday & igrave; it offers in its stalls excellent specimens of typical fish of the Adriatic Sea. In the canals that surround the town there are also numerous mussel farms and small boats of local fishermen. City that I found of great charm thanks also to its strong attachment to the sea.
For me, Chioggia is inseparably linked to Carlo Goldoni who lived there and set one of his comedies “Le Baruffe Chiozzotte & lt; /strong> '. It is also linked to the rich variety of fish from the sea and the lagoon that you can buy at the picturesque and lively fish market. Chioggia is called by many 'younger sister of Venice' and this name is very successful. As in Venice there are many canals, there is even a Grand Canal, the Grand Canal of the Vena. They also remember Venice buildings, houses, streets, fields and bridges, all in Venetian style. The influence of Venice is undeniable and it's not surprising: Chioggia is located only 50 kilometers from Venice, between the Venetian Lagoon and the Po Delta. Visiting Chioggia does not mean admiring only Corso del Popolo, on which all the most important monuments overlook like the cathedral with works by Tiepolo and other churches of great artistic importance. Chioggia is also a lively outdoor life that takes place in the premises, but also under the arcades and squares. It is also an intense tourist life that mainly focuses in Sottomarina, a hamlet of Chioggia that is now an integral part of it. Here tourists can not only sunbathe and swim in the sea, but also engage in scuba diving that offer a thousand colorful emotions.
Lido di Jesolo is a hamlet of the city of Jesolo as well as a well-known seaside resort frequented every year by numerous tourists. Its history began in the 19th century when the first bathhouse was opened that saw an initial tourist development in the area. Due to world conflicts, the growth of Lido di Jesolo stopped abruptly to resume again in the immediate post-war period with the spread of the first < strong>accommodation facilities. Today Lido di Jesolo is a well-known seaside resort that has become for many tourists “holiday cities” to head to every summer. The sandy beach, of Dolomite origin, consists of a large beach equipped and protected from breakwater. The regular sea is the ideal place for families with children. There are countless activities that can be practiced in Lido di Jesolo: fun beach sports such as beach volleyball and beach rugby, aquascooting and paraflying, horse riding and golf, as well as countless swimming pools, fitness centers and dance classes. Tourists who go to Lido di Jesolo, after spending the day on the beach or visiting Jesolo and nearby Venice, find particularly It's fun to spend the warm summer evenings in one of the many nightclubs. Between pubs, restaurants and discos the evenings come alive in the famous seaside resort. In addition, the numerous hotels in Lido di Jesolo with cordiality and a well-founded hotel tradition offer the opportunity to spend a pleasant holiday.
Lido di Jesolo is the perfect place for me. There is everything I love: sun, sea, beach, nightclubs and also Venice, one of my favorite cities only a few kilometers away. Venice became only after more stays in Jesolo my favorite city. I often went to Cavallino by boat in the lagoon, and I found the corners, which normally remain hidden from most tourists. Thanks to the holiday in Jesolo! Tourism has developed since the 90s, it can be said that most hotels and residences are still relatively new. On the seafront, you will find numerous restaurants and pizzerias. In the evening, the staff awaits you at the entrance to the terrace and try to attract spectators with their specialties. Many bars and pubs have live music in the evenings or piano bars, where you can also dance. Not to be forgotten are the nightclubs, where you will often find well-known international DJs. Many discos are in the open air summer. Everywhere you can also see the games rooms, shops, which are open until midnight. With several tour-operators you will also have the opportunity to visit the surrounding area, or you can simply do nothing on the sandy beach.
