Churches and places of worship Cattedrale di San Cataldo The cathedral of San Cataldo commonly known as the cathedral of San Cataldo is the oldest Apulian cathedral and is located in the historic center of Taranto. Dedicated to San Cataldo, an Irish bishop who died in Taranto, it was built in the second half of the tenth century on the remains of a medieval religious building and houses the tomb of the saint and other famous people of the city.
