Forni Avoltri - Museums Collezione Etnografica The year the Ethnographic Collection was founded in 1993. The structure collects various objects that are divided by specificity: kitchen, bedroom, kit, crafts, such as woodworking, etc. The Collection is located inside an eighteenth-century house . Spinning and weaving are presented in a special section of the same.
Zuglio - Museums Museo Civico Archeologico Iulium Carnicum The Iulium Carnicum Civic Archaeological Museum was founded in 1995. It is located in the beautiful Palazzo Leschiutta which is owned by the Municipality. All the objects that we can observe in it today come from the ancient Iulium Carnicum. The materials are exposed in different floors following a division into sections. This institute, very important for the ancient city culture, is part of the Museum Network of the Province of Udine and Carnia Museums.
Prato Carnico - Museums Museo della Casa Carnica The Carnica House Museum is a small ethnographic museum, created thanks to the donation of Dorina Bruseschi, its owner. The Museum offers the opportunity to admire a typical architecture of the bourgeois Carnica house from the 17th and 18th centuries. On the first floor there is the fireplace while on the upper floor you can admire the bedroom and study of Battista Bruseschi.
Treppo Ligosullo - Castles, palaces and mansions Castello Valdajer Valdajer Castle dates back to 1460, built by the will of the Graigher Counts of Munich. Over the years, the Castle has been the residential center of some noble families. In World War I, part of the building was destroyed and then restored in 1970 on the original project.
Tolmezzo - Walls, towers and gates Torre Picotta The Picotta Tower is located on a small hill, also reachable on foot. The Tower was built in 1477 to defend itself against the invasions of the Turks. During World War II, the building was almost completely destroyed by the Germans in 1944. After a few years, the Tower was rebuilt keeping its original shape thanks to some documents and photographs.
Sutrio - Churches and places of worship Chiesa di Ognissanti The church of All Saints, branch of the master church of San Pietro in Carnia (and detached from it in 1730) is very ancient as a foundation. It was consecrated on 19 July by the Archbishop of Udine Giovanni Maria Berengo. Its foundation was dedicated to ALL SAINTS (All Saints).
Sutrio - Churches and places of worship Chiesa di San Nicolo Built in the “taviela” of Sutrio in the 13th century on a pre-existing chapel, whose origin is lost in the mists of time, it has always been considered the church of the “STRAULINARS”. The altar of San Rocco dates back to 1836 and was built by Sutrian Giacomo Straulino; that of San Sebastiano is of an uncertain date.
Sutrio - Churches and places of worship Chiesa Sant'Ulderico The church of San Ulderico had been rebuilt by the architect Schiavi in 1791. At that time it was dedicated to New Year's Eve, but, then it was dedicated to San Ulderico, you don't know when and you don't know why. Several frescoes were by Novelli, a famous architect of the time.
Tolmezzo - Museums Museo Carnico delle Arti Popolari "M. Gortani" The Carnic Museum of Popular Arts “M. Gortani” is located inside the Palazzo Campeis. The collection exists thanks to the great research work carried out since 1920 by Professor Michele Cortani. The exhibition includes ethnographic material dating from the fourteenth and nineteenth centuries, with particular attention to the traditions of Carnia.
