Castles, palaces and mansions Castello di Salle The Castle of Salle was probably erected before the eleventh century by the Abbey of San Clemente in Casauria. Starting from the 16th century, the manor went under the management of noble families such as the Colonna and the Gonzaga d'Aquino. In 1646 it was adapted to a stately residence by Baron Giacinto de Genua.
