Archaeological Sites Città sicula-greca Morgantina The archaeological site of Morgantina was founded in the Prehistoric Age and had its decline in the Roman Imperial Age. It is located in the interior of Sicily and is the best known ancient city. In Morgantina there are two areas that correspond to the two main phases of the city's history, which are: the ancient, Hellenistic-Roman settlement and the one called “The Citadel “which has its own origins in the Bronze Age.
