Archaeological Sites San Pietro degli Schiavoni The archaeological area of San Pietro degli Schiavoni collects finds from the ancient Roman city. At the beginning it was a neighborhood with a church dedicated to Saint Peter. The inhabitants were mainly Albanians and Slavs, the Schiavoni, arrived in the 15th century. The excavations carried out in the archaeological area brought to light an island from the Roman period. Characteristics are the narrow streets and squares in a non-regular shape. The area is open to the public.
