Sinuous and organic, the small
Church of Stella Maris sits atop a bluff overlooking the azure waters of Porto Cervo.
Six slabs of stone support its terracotta roof, laden with curved tiles, every shade of ochre. A bell tower looms, striking white against the clear blue sky, while the scent of juniper fills the space within, permeating from the soft, brown wood of the pews.
Stone sculptures join Mater Dolorosa, an
El Greco masterpiece, to adorn the church's simple interior.
