Alghero is located in the western part of Sardinia, and is also known as the little Barcelona. Throughout its history it has been long under Spanish rule, so the Catalan language has remained alive until today.

I have come here often by plane, the airport is only fifteen kilometers from the center. Then you can take the bus, a taxi, or a rental car to get to downtown. But in the city you won't need the car anymore, because the beaches, the center and the most monuments ugrave; important ones are within easy walking distance.

The port is very nice, where you can already see the gates of the city, which take us to the historic center. The center has retained its medieval character with narrow streets, towers and fortifications, and is surrounded by a city wall. On this, directly on the sea, a walk was built.

In the surroundings of Alghero I saw the most beautiful beaches! In the direction of Bosa, on the state road, but also towards Fertilia I often went to swim. I've often found quiet little bays.

From spring to autumn, various events are held in Alghero every week, such as the Exhibition of Artists on the streets of downtown, Alguer Arte or the San Giovanni market, where you can taste the local specialties.

If you go to Alghero, you will also have to discover the area of Capo Caccia and the Grotto of Neptune!
