From February to April

  • Festa di Sant'Agata (Catania, Sicily): from 3rd to 5th February every year over a million of people between devotees and curious come to Catania to attend this festival commemorating the martyrdom of the Patron Saint of the City. On August 17th it is remembered the return of the spoils in Catania.
  • Festival del Mandorlo in Fiore (Agrigento, Sicily): a day dedicated to celebration of the blossoming of the almond trees that in Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples announce the return of spring

  • Festival di Sant'Efisio (Cagliari, Sardinia): Every year a procession of floats, knights, pilgrims and devotees accompany the image of the Holy Martyr Efisio from Cagliari to Nora, place of martyrdom. Event of extraordinary popular participation.
  • Festa di San Nicola (Bari, Puglia): Each year the firm represented 62 of the legendary sailors who in the 1087 steal the bones of St. Nicholas to bring them in Bari
  • Procession of the Serpari (Cocullo, Abruzzo): The serpari are those who are familiar with snakes. At noon on a Sunday in May, the statue of the Saint Patron is carried out by the church, loaded with snakes and carried in procession

  • Infiorata (Various locations): The Flower Festival (Infiorata) is an event which is to create carpets of flowers or parts thereof and which traditionally takes place the day of the Catholic feast of Corpus Christi
  • Festa di San Giovanni (Florence, Tuscany): A series of demonstrations and events taking place in Florence to celebrate the Saint Patron of the city
  • Festival dei due mondi (Spoleto, Umbria): music, art and entertainment festival annually held in Spoleto
  • Palio of the Four Ancient Maritime Republics (Pisa 2010/Venezia 2011): Historical Regata, during which the four ancient maritime republics of Pisa, Amalfi, Venice and Genoa challenge

  • The Palio (Siena, Tuscany): One of the best known and beloved events, historical race of horses representing the city districts ride every year on July 2nd and August 15th in Piazza del Campo.
  • Ardia (Sedilo, Sardinia): wild horse race held every year in honor of San Costantino
  • Quintana (Ascoli Piceno): equestrian tournament that takes place in the town of Quintana, Marche
  • Festa del Redentore (Venice, Veneto): traditional festival that takes place on the island of Giudecca recalling the construction of the Church of the Redemeer
  • Taormina Arte (Taormina, Sicily): Festival of arts, music and dance that enlivens the summer of Sicilian town.
  • Festino di Santa Rosalia (Palermo, Sicily): despite the name it is a great festival in which participate hundreds of thousands of faithful, curious and tourists consisting of performances, exhibitions and concerts beginning the first day of the month and culminating in the religious celebrations of July 15th.

  • I Candelieri (Sassari, Sardinia): traditional and loved festival that animates the summers Sassari with a historical procession through the city
  • The Palio (Siena, Tuscany): In the middle of August is held the second annual event of the best known and loved Italian Palio
  • Festa del Redentore (Nuoro, Sardinia): Religious festivity held in Nuoro, at the foot of Mount Orbene

  • Festa di San Gennaro (Naples, Campania): In September it is celebrated the Feast of Saint Patron and protector of Naples. On that day the faithful and devotees of the Saint await the famous miracle of the liquefaction of the blood
  • Film Festival (Venice, Veneto): the Golden Lion is awarded during the most important and best known Italian Film Festival
  • Historical Regata (Venice, Veneto): Important regata revival taking place in the canals of Venice on the first Sunday of September
  • Cheese (Bra, Piemonte): The cheese is the absolute protagonist central of this food fair organized by Slow Food in the town of Bra, Cuneo

  • Salone del Gusto (Torino, Piemonte): Main Slow Food event, the best selection of Italian food and wine in Turin Lingotto Exhibition Centre

  • Festa della Madonna della Salute (Venice, Veneto): In this festival you can admire a temporary bridge of boats spanning the Grand Canal to allow the passage of a procession
