Porto Cervo: heaven on earth
Delicate olive trees creep skyward from terracotta pots flanking elegant doorways, while magenta bougainvillea winds its way around banisters.
The most luxurious fashions can all be obtained within this uncommon shopping paradise, but the experience is utterly Mediterranean. Versace, Prada and Gucci are all ensconced within this Costa Smeralda village of unrivaled glamour. Unlike their cosmopolitan counterparts, these shops lie tucked away within a pastel-hued, stucco complex of stores and restaurants that mimic the charm of a traditional fishing hamlet.
Don't miss out on an aperitivo on the Piazzetta, in a crowd of peoples, colours and chats. Be stunned by the wonderful luxury yachts set in the Porto. Porto Cervo is a true heaven on earth, a natural paradise fully serviced with luxury.
Stella Maris Church
Sinuous and organic, the small Church of Stella Maris sits atop a bluff overlooking the azure waters of Porto Cervo.
Six slabs of stone support its terracotta roof, laden with curved tiles, every shade of ochre. A bell tower looms, striking white against the clear blue sky, while the scent of juniper fills the space within, permeating from the soft, brown wood of the pews.
Stone sculptures join Mater Dolorosa, an El Greco masterpiece, to adorn the church's simple interior.
