A particular street, the main artery of Naples, dates from the first half of the 500 and today is totally pedestrian, and is the heart of the city of Naples. It develops between Piazza Dante and Piazza Plebiscito.
On Via Toledo overlook noble buildings, the Galleria Umberto I, theaters, cafes, offices and banks. It was for the will of the Spanish viceroy Pedro de Toledo that the project was commissioned to Giovanni Benincasa and Ferdinando Manlio, with the idea of linking the area of Largo Market (today, Piazza Dante) to the Chiaia district.
