Located in the Adriatic Coast, Molfetta belongs to the province of Bari in the Apulia region of Italy. Its history dates back to 4th century BC. Remnants of a fishing village and the antique graves provided the evidence to this effect. However, the oldest document that relates to the city is from 925 CE. In the 11th century the city was developed as a commercial port. Present day Molfetta is known for its fishing, cement production, boat building and food processing industries.
