written by Chiara Guzzetti
Apricale wonder Intemelia panoramic hinterland boasts the oldest states in Liguria (1267).
The Castle of the Lizard, the site of art exhibitions of the highest level, is home to the underground tunnel scene of Lele Luzzati enriched by its shapes; underlying the harmonious piazza overlooking the valley is home to the oratory of S. Bartholomew, keeper of a polyptych of 1544. The maze of alleys and covered carugi is a unique architectural heritage, with ancient doors, craft shops and facades of stone houses decorated with murals.
At the feet of the village there is the Church of St. Maria degli Angeli, exquisitely frescoed (XV-XVIII sec.).
Please take note of the following cultural events: the week of S. Valentino, with entertainment in restaurants, in the square and the Castle; the Famous Summer Theater performances of Cough; the Festival and Festival of pansarole in September.
